Grasmere Village Hall is run by a group of volunteer trustees who are committed to ensuring the hall remains a welcoming, well-managed, and sustainable community space for everyone.
The trustees are responsible for the overall governance of the hall. This includes looking after the building, managing finances, meeting legal and charity obligations, and making sure the hall continues to serve the needs of the local community both now and in the future. All trustees give their time freely and bring a range of skills, experience, and local knowledge to the role.
As a charitable organisation, Grasmere Village Hall is managed in the best interests of the community. The trustees work together to set priorities, oversee maintenance and improvements, support volunteers, and guide the long-term development of the hall. Decisions are made collectively, with a focus on keeping the hall accessible, affordable, and fit for purpose.
The trustees also work closely with hall users, local groups, and partner organisations to ensure the hall continues to be a lively and well-used hub for village life. From regular community activities to private events and celebrations, their aim is to support a wide range of uses while protecting the hall for future generations.
We aim to maintain a good balance of skills, experience, and local knowledge on the board to ensure the hall is well governed and meets both day-to-day and long-term needs. We welcome interest from anyone keen to support this important community asset, with new trustees appointed to strengthen and complement the skills already on the board. If you would like to become a trustee or find out more about how the hall is run, please get in touch.
